John F. Kennedy International Airport lounges by terminal.
Terminal 1 (International Star Alliance)
T1 at JFK handles international long-haul flights from Star Alliance carriers (Lufthansa, ANA, Korean — KE moved to T1 from T4 — Turkish, Air India) plus several non-aligned carriers. The Lufthansa Senator and Business lounges anchor T1's premium offering; KAL and Turkish Airlines run their own carrier lounges. Priority Pass and DragonPass each cover a few options. T1 has its own dedicated lounge cluster and is not connected airside to other JFK terminals.

HelloSky and Capital One add Priority Pass / Capital One card options.

T5 is JetBlue's home with the BlueHouse and a separate Aer Lingus lounge for EI departures. T7 is in the process of being redeveloped — historically the BA terminal, now in transition with a limited lounge footprint. Carriers like Alaska, Aer Lingus, and others use T7 or T5 depending on schedule.
- —JetBlue BlueHouse: VS partners and Mint passengers, T5

How to get into lounges at JFK.
JFK is one of the more access-tier-fragmented airports in the world. Priority Pass coverage is solid but uneven across terminals. AmEx Platinum/Centurion has its own dedicated lounge. Capital One cards open the Capital One Lounge. Airline status (BA Gold, Delta Diamond, AAdvantage Executive Platinum) opens the higher-tier airline lounges. Below are the routes in.
Priority Pass
Covers HelloSky (T4), Minute Suites (T8 — pay-by-hour pods), Turkish Airlines Lounge (T1 reciprocal), Primeclass (T1), and a few smaller options. Notably does NOT cover Capital One, Centurion, Delta One Lounge, Chelsea Lounge, or any of the airline-premium tier.
American Express Platinum / Centurion
The Centurion Lounge at T4 is AmEx's dedicated outpost — only AmEx Platinum and Centurion cardholders enter. The lounge has its own kitchen, full bar, dedicated space. Distinct from Priority Pass (which AmEx cards also include).
Capital One Cards
Capital One Venture X and Venture cards include complimentary access to the Capital One Lounge at JFK. Non-cardholders can pay around $65 for a 3-hour day pass. One of the newer and better-designed open-access third-party lounges in the US.
AAdvantage (T8 Tier Map)
AA's T8 lounge tiers map to status as follows: Admirals Club for AAdvantage Executive Platinum / Platinum Pro and oneworld Sapphire. Greenwich Lounge for premium economy passengers and AA Gold status. Soho Lounge for AA Business Class international. Chelsea Lounge for AA Flagship First and Business international + oneworld Emerald on eligible flights.
Delta SkyMiles Status + Delta One
Delta Sky Club at T4 covers Delta One and Diamond/Platinum SkyMiles members on Delta-marketed flights (recent changes restrict access). The Delta One Lounge is premium-cabin-only — Delta One transcon and Delta One international Business. The largest Sky Club in the US is here at T4.
Star Alliance Gold (T1)
Star Alliance Gold opens Lufthansa Senator (T1, workspace champion), LH Business (T1), Turkish Airlines Lounge (T1), and Air India Maharaja First Class Lounge (T4 — Star First/Business). Star Gold flying any Star carrier from T1 or T4 has reciprocal access.
Walk-in Day Pass
Capital One Lounge, HelloSky, Primeclass, Minute Suites, and the legacy T7 lounges sell walk-in passes. Capital One is the best of these on amenity quality; HelloSky and Primeclass are budget options. Most run $45-65 per visit.
Free Alternatives
JFK doesn't have free traditional lounges. T4 and T8 have dedicated public seating areas with charging and free Wi-Fi. The JFK AirTrain stations have comfortable seating. Workable for shorter waits but not a lounge experience.
Know before you go.
Timing & Crowds
- —T4 Delta Sky Club hits hard 4pm-8pm with the European long-haul cluster. Pre-flight, the Delta One Lounge is calmer.
- —Centurion Lounge T4 fills at AmEx peak — late evening (10pm+) and overnight to Europe. Off-peak is genuinely quiet.
- —T8 Chelsea Lounge is busiest 5pm-9pm with BA/AA/IB transatlantic departures. Mid-day is calmer.
Capital One vs Priority Pass
- —If you have BOTH a Capital One Venture X and a card with Priority Pass: Capital One Lounge is meaningfully better than the Priority Pass options at JFK. Use the Cap One first.
- —Capital One Lounge has a 3-hour cap before departure — arrive within that window or you'll be denied.
- —AmEx Platinum gets Centurion AND Priority Pass — but Centurion is its own separate access tier (different lounge, different entrance).
Terminal Navigation
- —JFK terminals are not connected airside. Pick your terminal before booking. AirTrain connects them landside in 5-10 minutes.
- —T8 has the AA tower's full tiered family — knowing which AA lounge you qualify for matters: Admirals < Greenwich < Soho < Chelsea.
- —T1 international Star Alliance is its own world — useful for AC/SQ/NH/LH/TK passengers but irrelevant to most domestic travelers.
T8 Lounge Strategy
- —If you're AA Business international, head to Soho Lounge, not Admirals Club. The Soho is the better experience even though both accept you.
- —Chelsea Lounge is genuinely worth seeking out — newest AA lounge globally, with sit-down dining and quiet zones. Verify your eligibility before walking over.
- —Minute Suites is by-the-hour rest pods (not a buffet lounge) — useful for long T8 layovers needing actual sleep.

The new Chelsea Lounge at T8 is AA's premium flagship — a la carte dining, full bar, dedicated quiet zones. Restricted to AA Flagship First / Business international and oneworld Emerald on eligible flights. For open access, the Capital One Lounge at T4 is the best third-party. For Delta passengers, the Delta One Lounge at T4 is the headline.
No. The Centurion Lounge at T4 is open only to AmEx Platinum and Centurion cardholders. AmEx Gold and other AmEx products don't grant access, and there's no walk-in day pass.
JFK terminals are not connected airside. The AirTrain connects them landside in 5-10 minutes (free between terminals). If you're transferring between airlines at different terminals, you'll re-clear security after AirTrain. Allow 30-45 minutes for a terminal change.
AA's T8 lounge family at JFK is tiered: Admirals Club (standard, AAdvantage Executive Platinum / Platinum Pro and oneworld Sapphire), Greenwich Lounge (premium economy passengers and AA Gold status), Soho Lounge (AA Business Class international), and Chelsea Lounge (AA Flagship First / Business international + oneworld Emerald). Match the lounge to your access tier.
No. The Delta One Lounge is premium-cabin-only (Delta One transcon and international Business) — sit-down a la carte dining, dedicated spa, separate space. The Delta Sky Club is the larger general Delta lounge, accepting Delta SkyMiles status and SkyTeam Elite Plus. Both are at T4, separate entrances.
Yes, at several lounges. Capital One Lounge ($65 / 3 hours), HelloSky ($45 / 3 hours), Primeclass T1, Minute Suites T8 (hourly), and the legacy T7 lounges. Airline-restricted lounges (Centurion, Delta One Lounge, Chelsea Lounge, Virgin Clubhouse, etc.) do not sell day passes.
